Steam has released the results of its November 2025 Hardware and Software Survey, revealing current trends in gaming audience hardware preferences. The newly released table reveals important details in many areas, from the most popular graphics cards to operating system distributions and processor market balances.
Most Used Hardware
Nvidia maintains its clear lead in the graphics card market. The RTX 4060 mobile GPU was the most popular graphics card model in November. This model reached a usage rate of 4.44 percent, a 0.14 percentage point increase compared to October.
The previous-generation RTX 3060 followed at 4.33 percent. The desktop RTX 4060 remained stable at 4.17 percent. Other prominent models include the RTX 3050 and the aging GTX 1650, which maintain their large user base. The new-generation RTX 5070 also saw a significant increase with 2.01 percent.
Operating system usage rates rose again in Microsoft’s favor in November. Windows 11 usage reached 69.20 percent, a significant increase of 2.18 percentage points compared to the previous month.
This jump indicates that the new operating system is being adopted more rapidly by the gaming community. In contrast, Windows 10 continued its downward trend, falling to 30.66 percent. The share of the older Windows 7 remained almost invisible.
Intel appears to maintain its majority in the processor market. However, its market share has been steadily declining since July. Intel fell to 57.30 percent in November, a 0.52 percentage point decrease compared to October. In contrast, AMD achieved a small but steady increase, rising to 42.61 percent. Microsoft’s XTA category remained stable at 0.09 percent.
The trend in processor core structures is also changing. While six-core processors remain the most common architecture, utilization fell to 29.36%, losing 0.27 percentage points. In contrast, eight-core processors rose to 25.89%, a 0.47 percentage point increase month-over-month. While the decline continued for four-core processors, limited increases were seen for 10-, 12-, and 16-core models.
